Rose Walker at West Health and Rehab (Care Center) reached out to us and said their residents (or "grandfriends" as the preschooler calls them) are really struggling during the lock-down. They aren't allowed any visitors and have to sit at least 6 feet apart at all times throughout the day so they are getting very lonely. She asked if we could get our students to write letters, draw pictures, etc. to send to the residents. Could be a nice way for them to work on their writing, reading, art, etc.
If a student knows a specific resident they can write it directly to them, otherwise just a general letter would be great and she will hand them out as they come in. Please reach out to parents/ students in your classes and see if they would be willing to work on this. All ages are welcome!
